Mississippian-period (1000-1550 AD) shell-tempered and sand-tempered pottery in a display at the Indian Mound and Museum in Florence, Lauderdale County. The collection includes water bottles, effigy pots, and some shell beads. Although the mound was constructed during the Woodland period (400-100 BC), the museum houses a variety of Native American artifacts from the prehistoric era.
