Mississippian Chief

A Mississippian chief climbs the steps to the top of a mound in this exhibit at the Archaeology Museum at the University of South Alabama. It depicts a scene from the Bottle Creek Site, located on Mound Island in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta, which was inhabited from approximately 1250 to about 1550 but was abandoned prior to European contact.
