Mining Town Church, Bessemer

The Starlight Baptist Church in Bessemer was constructed in the 1900s for African American miners and their families by the Tennessee Coal and Iron Company in the company town adjacent to its iron ore mining operation there. It was photographed by the federal Historic American Buildings Survey in 1993.
