Military Order of the Purple Heart Memorial

The Military Order of the Purple Heart Memorial in Hartselle, Morgan County, honors citizens of Morgan and neighboring Cullman County who were killed or wounded in action during military service. It is located in Sparkman Park, named for Hartselle native John Sparkman, who represented Alabama for 42 years in the U.S. Congress. The memorial was dedicated in 2004 and holds an annual ceremony to add new names to the list of those honored on the memorial.
