Enterprise native Michael J. Novosel Sr. (1922-2006) was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. He earned a Medal of Honor for bravery during a medical evacuation in the Vietnam War. Fort Rucker, in Coffee and Dale Counties, was renamed in his honor in 2023.
