The Mary Carter Paint Store building in downtown Cullman, Cullman County, was originally the location of the German Bank, reflective of the town's origins as a settlement of German immigrants. Local merchant Raymond Young has operated the store as a franchise of the Mary Carter Paint Company, founded in New Jersey in 1927, since 1964.
