Loggerhead sea turtle hatchlings emerge from their nest at a protected beach in Baldwin County. The Bureau of Land Management maintains seven beachfront tracts that are habitat for the endangered Alabama beach mouse, and these areas also provide much-needed nesting space for sea turtles and shore birds.
