Loggerhead Sea Turtle

Although it is found in many parts of the world, the loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) is vulnerable to extinction throughout its range. In Alabama, loggerheads nest seasonally on the beaches of Baldwin and Mobile Counties, and they are often seen foraging in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico.
