Lock at Wheeler Dam

Wheeler Lock and Dam, which spans the Tennessee River between Lauderdale and Lawrence Counties, was the first project taken on by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) after its creation in 1933. Completed in 1936, it is one of eight TVA dams on the Tennessee River and is named for Gen. Joseph Wheeler.
