Location of the Highland Rim Section

This map shows the location of the Highland Rim Physiographic Section in northeastern Alabama. The smallest of the state's sections, it encompasses a series of dip slopes that reflect the rock formations, which lie atop each other at a gentle angle downward to the south. The Highland Rim is home to the economically and culturally important Tennessee River.
