Foley native Ken Stabler (1945-2015) was a standout quarterback for the University of Alabama football program during the mid-1960s under coach Paul "Bear" Bryant. He went on to a successful NFL career with the Oakland Raiders, the Houston Oilers, and the New Orleans Saints.
