Justin Smith Morrill

Justin Smith Morrill (1810-1898) was a Vermont politician who sponsored the Morrill Land Grant Colleges Act that was signed into law by Pres. Abraham Lincoln in 1862. The bill established federal funding system for land-grant universities in every state.
