Mobile native Julian Lee "Judy" Rayford (1908-1980) was a novelist, sculptor, and journalist who worked for the Mobile Register during the 1930s and wrote magazine articles and books, such as Cottonmouth (1941), a story of Mobile in the early twentieth century.
