Josephine Hotel

The Josephine Hotel in Union Springs, Bullock County, was built in 1880 by local physician Robert A. Fleming and named for his wife. The 32-room building changed hands several times and in 1903 became the pharmacy of F. F. Ravencroft. Today, the bottom floor hosts a café and the owners are in the process of restoring the rest of the building. The hotel has been the subject of "ghost hunters," who claim that it is haunted, and was featured in the book Haunted Alabama Black Belt in 2013.
