The Huntsville Meridian is a geographical marker established by surveyor Thomas Freeman in 1807 to serve as a reference point from which to survey all the land in North Alabama. This marker was erected in Huntsville's Maple Hill Cemetery to commemorate the spot by the Huntsville Pilgrimage Association.
