Henry B. Steagall

Dale County native Henry Bascom Steagall (1873-1943) served Alabama in the U.S. House of Representatives for nearly 30 years, co-sponsoring progressive bills such as the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933, which created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Wagner-Steagall National Housing Act of 1937.
