Helen Keller Statue at the Capitol

In October 2009, a bronze statue of a young Helen Keller replaced that of politician J. L. M. Curry to represent Alabama in the Statuary Hall of the U.S. Capitol. The statue, by Edward Hlavka, depicts Keller at the water pump at her childhood home in Tuscumbia.
