Inventor C. Harry Knowles (1928-2020), a Birmingham native and Auburn University graduate, holds more than 400 patents. He was involved in the development of a number of significant technological innovations, including satellites and a wide array of electronic scanners that revolutionized medical care and the retail and postal industries.
