Wetumpka native Frazine Taylor was a noted genealogist, author, historian, and public history advocate who spent much of her career at the Alabama Department of Archives and History. She was the first African American president of the Alabama Historical Association and served on the Black Heritage Council of the Alabama Historical Commission for 31 years.
