The Frank M. Johnson Federal Building and Courthouse was formerly downtown Montgomery's main post office, constructed in 1932. It was renamed to honor Frank Johnson in 1992. Johnson was a long-time federal judge who is known for his many judicial decisions in support of civil rights.
