Fossil Dinosaur Egg

This fossil dinosaur egg is part of the collections at the Auburn University Museum of Natural History in Auburn, Lee County, and is the only one of its kind found east of the Mississippi river. The unique 65-million-year-old fossil was found by a group of teenagers in the 1970s in the Harrel Station Cretaceous deposits in Dallas County. The egg is believed to be that of an ornithomimid therapod dinosaur.
