A historical re-enactor sits atop the reconstructed earthworks of Fort Jackson at the Fort Toulouse-Fort Jackson National Historic Park in Wetumpka, Elmore County. Little remains of the original fort, constructed under the orders of Gen. Andrew Jackson in the aftermath of the Creek War of 1813-14 to host treaty negotiations between himself and Creek leaders for surrendering Creek lands in Alabama.
