The fireback crayfish (Cambarus pyronotus) is restricted to the Apalachicola River system in Alabama and Florida. In Alabama, that includes the Chattahoochee River system. It digs burrows along the slopes of ravines in the panhandle of Florida and along the margins of ditches in Barbour and Russell Counties in Alabama.
