Figure 7. Plesiosaur Teeth

Plesiosaurs were a large and varied group of marine reptiles that lived from approximately 200 million to about 80 million years ago, dying out at the end of the Cretaceous. Plesiosaurs were predators, as shown by these large, pointed fossil teeth recovered from the Blufftown Formation in Russell County.
