Figh-Pickett-Barnes School House

The Figh-Pickett-Barnes School House was built around 1837 in Montgomery, Montgomery County, by contractor and brick manufacturer John P. Figh. In 1858, he sold the home to Albert James Pickett, Alabama's first historian and author of the two-volume History of Alabama, And Incidentally of Georgia and Mississippi, From the Earliest Period, published in 1851. It is now the headquarters of the Montgomery County Historical Society.
