Fannie Flagg

Actress and writer Fannie Flagg (1944- ) is an Irondale native whose stories often center on strong female protagonists and are set in the South. Her 1987 novel Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle-Stop Café was adapted to the screen in 1991, starring Jessica Tandy and Kathy Bates.
