The Emma Knox Kenan Public Library in Geneva, Geneva County, was built in 1931 and named for the city's long-time librarian. Kenan originally established the library in her home in 1904, and it moved to the local armory a short while later. That structure was damaged in a flood in 1930, prompting construction of the current building. Kenan's daughter Rebekah Lamar Kenan became librarian in 1943 and served until 1975.
