Druid Theater, 1951

The Druid Theater, located on Greensboro Avenue in downtown Tuscaloosa, opened in the early 1920s as the Bama Theater and renamed the Druid Theater in 1938 after a second Bama Theater was opened in the city. In July 1964, it was the site of an attack on Black teenagers and actor Jack Palance and his family by a White mob in response to desegregation.
