Dogtrot House in Montgomery County, 1944

This tenant farmer's home in Montgomery County, photographed by Arthur Rothstein for the federal Farm Security Administration, is known as a "dog-run" or "dogtrot" house because of the open central passage between the two sides of the dwelling.
