Desegregation Settlement Reached

On May 10, 1963, after continued pressure from Fred Shuttlesworth to achieve concrete results from the Birmingham campaign, movement leaders Martin Luther King Jr., left, and Wyatt Tee Walker reached an agreement with business leaders resulting in limited segregation reforms in the city.
