A native of Bessemer, DeMeco Ryans was an outside linebacker for the Crimson Tide from 2002 to 2005 and was awarded the SEC's Defensive Player of the Year in his senior year. He played in the NFL for the Houston Texans and the Philadelphia Eagles and was named head coach of the Texans in 2023.
