The DeKalb County Courthouse in Fort Payne was built in 1950 in an Art Deco-Neoclassical style and expanded in 1974. It replaced the original Fort Payne courthouse built in 1891. Now a private residence, the Old Courthouse in Lebanon was built in 1841 and served the county until 1876, when the seat was moved to Fort Payne.
