Davey Allison (1961-1994) was the eldest son of NASCAR legend Bobby Allison. A successful racecar driver in his own right, he died on July 13, 1994, from injuries sustained in a helicopter crash at Talladega Superspeedway. Davey was piloting the craft, and his passenger, Alabama Gang member Red Farmer, was injured but survived.
