Tuskegee Airman Daniel "Chappie" James was born in this house in Pensacola, Florida, on February 11, 1920. He trained other pilots at Tuskegee Institute during World War II and would go on to become a noted pilot during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired as the first Black four-star general in 1978.
