Coretta Scott King Memorial

The Coretta Scott King Memorial, in Marion, Perry County, honors civil rights activist Coretta Scott King, who was born in the nearby community of Heiberger and attended school and church in Marion. Although her husband, Martin Luther King Jr. was more widely known, Coretta was a significant figure in the movement in her own right. The monument is located outside her home church, Mt. Tabor AME Church on Jackson Street.
