Columbia Landing

Astronauts Henry W. Hartsfield (left) and Thomas K. "Ken" Mattingly II are greeted by Pres. Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan after the landing of the Space Shuttle Columbia at Edwards Air Force Base in June 1982. A native of Alabama, Hartsfield later held administrative positions at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Madison County.
