The Colbert County Courthouse was built in 1881 in the county seat of Tuscumbia. It was almost destroyed by a fire in 1908 and rebuilt in the Greek Revival architectural style. Wings were added in 1948 and 1975. It is a contributing property to the Colbert County Courthouse Square Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and includes 22 buildings.
