A native of Mobile, Mobile County, Chris Samuels starred for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team playing offensive tackle. In this photo, Samuels holds the Outland Trophy, which he was awarded in 1999 in his senior year for being the most outstanding interior linemen in college football. He allowed no sacks in 42 straight starts with the Tide. Samuels was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.
