Republican Charles Wilson Pierce (1823-1907) served one term in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Alabama's Fourth Congressional District. Originally from New York, he came to the state during Reconstruction to work for the Freedman's Bureau. After his term, he served briefly as a tax assessor and then relocated to Nebraska.
