Walker County native Carter Manasco (standing, far right) is pictured here with fellow members of the Commission on Organization of the Executive Branch of the Government, more commonly known as the Hoover Commission. It was organized in 1947 by Pres. Harry Truman and chaired by former Pres. Herbert Hoover with the aim of reorganizing the federal government to make it more efficient.
