Canoe Fight

The Canoe Fight took place on November 12, 1813, during the Creek War near the junction of the Randon's Creek and the Alabama River in Clarke County. It was a confrontation between frontiersman Samuel Dale and his men and a band of Creek warriors. The incident took on the quality of legend because it took place in canoes.
