Bullock County Cotton

During the nineteenth century, Bullock County, located in the Black Belt, was a major cotton producer in the state. Following the boll weevil infestations of the early twentieth century, farmers diversified their crops, and some lands formerly used for cotton growing were converted to hunting and amateur field trial areas.
