Browns Ferry Nuclear Power Plant

The Browns Ferry Nuclear Power Plant, located on Wheeler Reservoir near Athens in north Alabama, began operation in 1974 as the Tennessee Valley Authority's first nuclear facility. The plant contains three boiling-water reactors with a maximum capacity of 3,440 megawatts.
