Borzov the Sprinter, by Fairhope-based sculptor Bruce Larsen, honors Ukrainian track and field star Valery Borzov, who competed for the then-Soviet Union in the 1972 and 1976 Olympic Games. He won two gold medals in the 1972 games and took home five medals in all. Larsen creates his sculptures from recycled parts and discarded items.
