The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute (BCRI) is a museum that documents and interprets the major events and figures of the modern U.S. civil rights movement through exhibits and educational programming. Displays include a replica of a bus from the Freedom Rides and dioramas of notable events. A theater shows short films such as "The March" and "Give Us the Vote." BCRI is part of the Birmingham Civil Rights District and the Birmingham Civil Rights National Monument, designated by Pres. Barack Obama in 2017.
