A parade of boats in full regalia sail in the waterway during the annual Blessing of the Fleet in Bayou La Batre. The event, which features the Bishop of the Archdiocese of Mobile blessing the ships, is held annually in May and features arts and crafts, a gumbo cook-off, and children's activities.
