Andrew A. Lipscomb

Andrew Adgate Lipscomb (1816-1890) was the principal founder of Tuskegee Female College (now Huntingdon College) and served as its first president from 1856-1859. During the 1840s he led Bibb Street Methodist Protestant Church in Montgomery, and following his tenure in Tuskegee, he served as chancellor of the University of Georgia and a faculty member at Vanderbilt University.
