The Alabama streak-sorus fern (Leptogramma burksiorum) is one of the rarest fern species in the world. It is found only in Bankhead National Forest on a five-mile stretch of the Sipsey Fork of the Black Warrior River in Winston County. It grows on moist rock walls and cliffs near the waterway.
