Charlie Lucas, also known as the “Tin Man,” is a native Alabamian whose self-taught artistic style incorporates found materials into images and interpretations of the people and land of the state’s Black Belt region. His paintings and sculptures adorn or have been displayed at museums and public spaces across Alabama, including the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, the Rosa Parks Museum and Library, and the Birmingham Museum of Art.
