When you give to the Encyclopedia of Alabama, you support K-12 education in Alabama (and beyond) and help tell the story of the state to the rest of the world. In a time of shrinking education budgets throughout the nation, supporting a free, reliable, and accessible source of information such as EOA can make a real difference to K-12 students and teachers seeking information on Alabama.
Auburn University recently was awarded $425,000 for its first-ever Challenge Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. The monies raised through this grant will be used to create a permanent $1.7 million endowment for the Encyclopedia of Alabama that will provide long-term funding to help sustain and expand the Encyclopedia.
NEH's Challenge Grants require the recipient to raise matching funds to receive the award. To meet NEH's challenge, Auburn University needs your help in raising $405,000 by July 31, 2013, and an additional $742,500 by July 31, 2016, in yearly increments.
You can help Auburn University and the Encyclopedia of Alabama meet the NEH challenge and support the Encyclopedia for generations to come by donating today through the "Give to EOA" link.
